Padre Island National Seashore

Size: 130,434 Acres

Overview: A beautiful, almost untouched area of wilderness awaits visitors to Padre Island National Seashore. The shore runs along the Gulf of Mexico, separating it from the Laguna Madre, one of the only hypersaline lagoons in the world. The park has preserved about 70 miles of shoreline, including dunes, tidal flats, and grasslands and is a safe area for many different animal species. It is also a historic site, and despite its many changes over time, offers visitors a look into the past. Padre Island is a wonderful place for all kinds of recreational activities, both in and out of the water.
