There were 51,000 casualties and enormous devastation to the town of Gettysburg, but it was a Union victory, and changed the course of the war, bringing an end to Confederate hopes for independence. It was also here that President Lincoln gave his brief and infamous “Gettysburg Address.” Come visit the battlefield, cemetery, and historic town that helped shape our nation through its most influential national crisis.
