Hopewell Culture National Historic Park

Size: 1,765 Acres

Overview: Great earthen monuments are intricately and mysteriously laid out across the Ohio River Valley.  These are the relics of the Hopewell people, built almost 2,000 years ago for feasts, funerals, and rites of passage.  At the Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, visitors can walk among these geometric enclosures and ponder the sacred lands, which are still not fully understood.

Fees, permits, and reservations may apply.
