Aztec Ruins National Monument

Size: 318 Acres

Overview: With over 400 masonry rooms, the Ancestral Great House of the Pueblo people stands strong after nearly a millennium. The original timbers still support the roof, and marks of the builders’ hands are discernible in the mortar. At the Aztec Ruins National Monument (the ruins were incorrectly identified as Aztec when first discovered, and the name stuck), you can see first-hand the achievements of this ancient culture.
