Tupelo National Battlefield

Size: 1 Acre

Overview: Tupelo, Mississippi is a small but busy city with a population of 35,000. It has transformed greatly since the Civil War, and today only one acre remains of what was once an extensive battlefield. The Tupelo National Battlefield memorial shows visitors a small piece of history, from a massive battle between more than 20,000 soldiers, causing more than 2,000 deaths. The modern streets of the city also include landmarks of significant sites from the battlefield. A visit to the site, although small, offers a solemn memorial and information about an important moment in American history.

Fees, permits, and reservations may apply.
