The watershed covers too big a region to be encompassed by any one National Park, covering areas of New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and the District of Columbia in the Gateways and Watertrails Network. The Chesapeake Bay includes historic communities, farms, cities, and fishing villages. There are sites, trails, parks, and preserves to explore, as well as many beautiful waterways and views.
